Gulf Air Group Honors Bahraini Women Pioneering the Future of Aviation
Gulf Air Group (GFG), Bahrain’s aviation group, celebrated Bahraini Women’s Day at the Mövenpick Hotel, recognizing the achievements of Bahraini women across its entities and reaffirming its support for the Kingdom’s vision for female empowerment led by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). The event reflected this year’s national theme, Bahraini Women: Distinction, Creativity, Innovation.
The celebration featured a recognition ceremony, honoring outstanding female employees through a special edition of the Employee of the Month awards and a panel discussion titled “Leading with Distinction: Bahraini Women Shaping Tomorrow”, which brought together accomplished Bahraini women from the aviation, tourism, transport, and financial sectors.
Gulf Air Group Chairman, Mr. Khalid Hussain Taqi said: “On Bahraini Women’s Day, we proudly recognize the achievements of our female colleagues across all GFG portfolios. Bahraini women play an essential role in the progress of our aviation sector, contributing their talent and leadership across every function of the Group. This focus aligns with the national vision championed by the SCW and reflects our belief in creating opportunities that support long-term growth. Together, these opportunities allow women to bring their insight, ambition, and experience to shape the future of aviation in the Kingdom and beyond.”
Titled “Leading with Distinction: Bahraini Women Shaping Tomorrow”, the panel featured insights from, Ms. Ebtisam AlShamlan; Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications Assistant Undersecretary for Aviation Safety and Security, GFG Board Member, Ms. Fatima AlHasan; Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Sara Buhiji; Bahrain Development Bank Group Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Dalal Alqais and Mumtalakat Managing Director of Human Capital,Ms. Marwa AlSaad. The discussion explored themes of distinction, creativity, innovation, purposeful leadership, and the evolving role of Bahraini women in shaping tomorrow’s industries.
GFG’s celebration reinforces its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and talent development, recognizing the contributions of women in leadership positions and specialized roles across aviation safety, engineering, operations, customer experience, and corporate functions.
