Gulf Air Group Participates in IATA’s World Sustainability Symposium
Gulf Air Group (GFG) participated in IATA’s World Sustainability Symposium (WSS), a global event that brings together aviation leaders, policymakers, and experts to collaborate on achieving the industry’s sustainability goals. The symposium was held in Hong Kong on 21 – 22 October with over 500 participants from around the world in attendance.
Gulf Air Group Director of Risk Management & Sustainability Sara Sabt joined a panel discussion titled “The Big Picture Sustainability”. Ms. Sabt highlighted GFG’s sustainability efforts, including the Group’s contribution to the development of the first edition of IATA’s Integrated Sustainability Program (ISP). She also shared insights into GFG’s sustainability strategy, ongoing initiatives, and expectations from the ISP framework moving forward.
During the event, GFG was recognised for its participation as the ISP pilot. Notably, GFG is the only aviation group globally to pilot all three core elements of the ISP simultaneously, namely, procurement, social responsibility, and performance reporting.
This milestone underscores Gulf Air Group’s commitment to embedding sustainability across every aviation sector of operations, from airlines to airports to ground handling services.
